Igor Mokrousov and Anna Vyazovaya performed reports at the International Conference on tuberculosis in Indonesia


The Union World Conference on Lung Health 2024 was held on November 12-16, 2024 in Bali, Indonesia.

The Conference program included plenary lectures, symposia, round tables and workshops on various aspects of microbiology, respiratory diseases, genetics, antimicrobial chemotherapy. The conference provided a unique platform for interaction, learning and exchange of ideas, facilitating new collaborations and partnerships. Thousands of lung health experts, including researchers, scientists, healthcare professionals, physicians, civil society representatives, nurses and students attended the conference.

Dr. Sci. (Biology) Igor Mokrousov, Head, Laboratory of Molecular Epidemiology and Evolutionary Genetics, presented a poster report on the topic "Epidemic and endemic strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis: how pathobiology shapes their spread". Dr. Sci. (Biology) Anna Vyazovaya, leading researcher, Laboratory of Molecular Epidemiology and Evolutionary Genetics, presented a poster report on the topic "Molecular epidemiology of tuberculosis in a region with a high burden of HIV in Western Siberia, Russia".

Also, within the framework of the conference, Dr. Mokrousov and Dr. Vyazovaya discussed with their Chinese colleagues the current joint project supported by the Russian Science Foundation (grant 24-44-00004) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Reference. The conference is held annually by the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease and has become a significant event in this field throughout the world. The International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, founded in 1923, is the largest international organization in this field, working in close collaboration with the World Health Organization.

Abstracts will be published in a special issue of the International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (included in Q1 Scopus).

The next Union World Conference on Lung Health will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in November 2025.
