On September 30 to October 04, 2024, Dr. V.G. Dedkov, Deputy Director for Research, Dr. A.S. Gladkikh, Head of Molecular Genetic Monitoring Laboratory, and Dr. A.S. Dolgova, Head of Molecular Genetics of Pathogenic Microorganisms Laboratory, visited the Pasteur Institute in Tehran within the framework of the joint scientific project "Comparative study on the diversity of tick-borne infection pathogens in the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran" supported by the Russian Science Foundation (grant 24-45-20005) and the National Science Foundation of Iran (INSF).
The teams held a joint scientific seminar to agree on the methodological approaches that are to be applied to solve scientific problems. Protocols for collecting field material (ticks) and further activities on studying the diversity of pathogens they carried were defined. A number of mutual cooperation decisions were adopted: between the institutes' scientific journals (to speed up the publication process), on educational exchange between the institutes (post-graduates and young scientists). The draft MoU on the diagnostic kits development was compiled.
