On June 24-26, the XIII International Congress “Current trends in modern cardio-thoracic surgery” was held in St. Petersburg, bringing together leading Russian and foreign surgeons and respiratory medicine specialists.
The congress program included plenary sessions, schools, scientific symposiums, round tables, master classes and demonstration operations.
As part of the Symposium on Molecular Biomedicine, head of laboratory of molecular epidemiology and evolutionary genetics Dr. Igor Mokrousov made an oral presentation on the topic “Genetics of adaptation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to the pressure of antibiotics and their new derivatives in the in vitro and in vivo models” (studies supported by Russian Science Foundation).
